In this page, I'm going to talk about the brief history of Alice98 Test Records and how you can release your music here.

I'm Alice98 but you can call me Alice. I used to be an active member of a website called WatZatSong. It's a popular site for people to share snippets of songs that they don't know the names of, and other people try to look for the song's name and artist. Around January 2024, I met Sonic4 by helping him find some songs that he sampled in his albums. I haven't heard anything like his music before, he takes songs that other people made and distorts them to sound different. This is called "butchering" and he has a group of artists who love butchering music. These artists are inspired by V/Vm Test Records, a label that released similar unusual music and stood against the industry back in the late 1990's.

In March 2024, I also wanted to give it a try because it seemed easy and fun. Sonic4 quickly gave me the plugins he used, told me what each one did, and helped me get accustomed to them. I made a couple of songs and he loved it, so I kept making more. At the time, another member of Sonic4 Test Records made Alice98 versions of their album covers by replacing the text and editing my profile picture onto them as a joke. Sonic4 told me that I should make it a real thing, and he helped me make my first album. He even got some of his artist friends to make a few tracks for it. This album became AuralAwfulDanmaku and I'm very proud of it. I also made some albums completely on my own, such as Dead Princess and Udongein Overdrive series. People also loved it, so I think I am going to continue making more albums in the future.

If you want to join Alice98 Test Records, you can join our Discord server or try sending music to me directly. It can be any kind of interesting music, sampled or composed, electronic or absurd, I don't care. I only prefer if it's related to Touhou in one way or another, because it's the theme of this project.

If you want to know the rules and what happens when you release your music, please read this page that explains it in full detail.

And if you want to release non-Touhou music, please check out Sonic4 Test Records! They've helped me with this project and we are allies.
